Green Fingers Market
This Lower East Side storefront branches beyond just a simple plant shop, with curated apparel, vintage findings, and interior décor. The shop's founder, Satoshi Kawamoto, is a self-described "Master Plant Artist." His unique plant exhibits have graced publications like the New York Times and displays within major retailers like Uniqlo.

 

 

Town & Country Florist
Located right across from the south border of StuyTown, this local florist touts “one-hour delivery” windows. While their business is focused more on floral arrangements than houseplants, they have a selection of great plants perfect for gifting.

La La Laundry & Plant Shop
La La is so much more than your run-of-the-mill laundromat, with a large selection of houseplants for sale right in the entryway. Next time you need to take care of a large load of laundry or drop off some dry cleaning or tailoring, why not also go plant shopping as well? Now at least we have an excuse to take care of some chores.

The Sill
This Insta-friendly hotspot (#PlantsMakePeopleHappy) started as an online delivery service aimed at simplifying the mysteries of plant care and soon branched out to brick-and-mortar stores across NYC, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Their LES location is a local favorite with hands-on educational workshops and a rotating selection of unique greenery.

Crystal Garden Shops
The displays from Crystal Garden Shops and their next door neighbor, East Village Florist (see below), spill onto the sidewalks of East 10th Street. A wide selection of unique plants are accompanied by a huge selection of healing crystals, natural geodes, and other jewels. Time to get zen.

Situated right next door to the Crystal Garden Shop, this local plant and florist shop is filled to the brim with greenery. They also specialize in unique floral arrangements for events and terrarium displays.

Cactus Store
The elusive Cactus Store, nestled between the Lower East Side and Chinatown, is a unique greenhouse aimed at some of the most unique variations of cacti and succulents. Typically only open in late spring and summer, when they open their doors, keep your eyes peeled for some weird and wonderful plants you won't find at your standard garden shop. If they're not open, visit their website for some online offerings.

NYC's Flower District
Stretching between 6th and 7th Avenues on 28th Street, just slightly over a mile from StuyTown, the Flower District offers one of the busiest and densest concentrations of flower and plant shops in New York City's five boroughs. Inventory is pulled out onto sidewalks during the week, with everything from fresh flowers to towering ferns. Each shop is brimming with colorful displays, unique houseplants, and any type of garden accessory you could possibly need. Arrive early as some of these shops close after the AM rush.
