There’s nothing like summer in the city, and we want to make sure that everyone at StuyTown is taking full advantage of the beautiful weather. So, we’ve compiled a bucket list catered to you, with something for anyone and everyone.
- Union Square Greenmarket
We know you’ve heard of the StuyTown Greenmarket, but did you know that Union Square has one too? Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, Union Square hosts their own farmers market featuring goods from New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey and more. What better way to spend a summer day than shopping for local produce and other foods!
- Relax in Tompkins Square Park
Warm weather in NYC means it’s time to find a place to lay out in the sun! Luckily for StuyTown residents, Tompkins Square Park is only an 8-minute walk away. Whether you're looking to picnic in the park or just catch some rays, Tompkins Square Park is an ideal location for StuyTown residents who want to go somewhere other than the lawn.
- Try dairy-free ice cream at Morgenstern's
The best way to celebrate a warm day is which a nice, sweet treat, and Morgenstern’s Bananas is a great way to satisfy that sweet craving. Not lactose intolerant? That’s ok! Morgenstern’s Bananas flavors are so delicious that you won’t even notice that they’re dairy-free. They have classic flavors like Coffee Haze and for the more adventurous eaters, unique flavors such as Coconut Thai Tea. All their soft serves are made fresh in house, so make sure to go try on the next hot day.
- Explore the restaurants at Urbanspace
One summer activity no one looks forward to is going out to eat in a big group and having trouble deciding what cuisine everyone can agree on. Well, Urbanspace in Union Square is the perfect solution, and is only a 13-minute walk from StuyTown. Featuring 11 NYC restaurants and a bar, Urbanspace is great for the whole family and has plenty of outdoor seating for those warm sunny days.
- Go thrifting in Williamsburg
When summer rolls around and we suddenly hate all our summer clothes from the year before, that’s when you know it’s time to go thrifting! Luckily for StuyTown residents, Williamsburg is only a 12-minute subway ride away on the L and is filled with tons of great thrift stores that are guaranteed to help build your new wardrobe.
