Our Sustainability Initiatives - LEED Platinum Certification
LEED CERTIFICATION
StuyTown and Peter Cooper Village achieved LEED Platinum certification, marking a milestone as the first communities in New York state to receive this recognition under the USGBC's LEED for Communities program. This Platinum rating, the highest within the LEED system, signifies excellence in sustainability across 14 key metrics such as energy, water, waste, education, and health. Additionally, StuyTown's initiatives include Project Solar, featuring the largest private multi-family rooftop solar array in the US, as well as compost waste pickup, LED lighting, and other energy-efficient upgrades. These efforts have resulted in a 10% reduction in on-site greenhouse gas emissions since 2007, showcasing a continued dedication to green living and resident involvement.
